Drug Category: Quinolone.

 

Generic Name: Pipemidic acid.

 

Contents: Tabs: Pipemidic acid 400mg.

 

Indications: Acute painful infections of the genitourinary tract (cystitis, pyelitis, cystopyelitis, pyelonephritis, urethritis, postpartum pyelitis, etc.) caused by susceptible organism which are sensi­tive to Pipemidic acid.

 

Dosage: Adults: 400mg twice daily at 12 hours intervals, after meals, for at least 10 days. Children:14 years and older, same as adults.

 

Precautions: While taking Pipemidic acid it is advisable not to expose one self for longer periods to the sun as there is a risk of photo sensibility with a possible consequent bulbous dermatitis.

 

Adverse effects: Nausea and abdominal pain.
